50 UEMS minimally invasive surgery board exam (MIS) EAES Annual Report 2019 17 eligible candidates from 14 countries on 4 continents took the opportunity to sit for the exam to be awarded a specialist title F.E.B.S./MIS. EAES offered its members, who participated to the exam and were registered for the congress, the opportunity to win a travel grant for the 5 best scoring exams. The EAES UEMS MIS exam travel grant was received by: Jeroen Ponten The Netherlands David Saavedra-Perez Spain Ionut-Christian Hutopila Romania Georgios Ayiomamitis Greece Mohamed Shaban UK Understanding the importance of standardisation and quality assurance in education and training & credentialing in minimally invasive surgery, EAES decided to constitute the EAES UEMS MIS Exam Task Force to further promote the implementation of the project. A devoted group of experts involving all stakeholders will be led by former EAES Education & Training committee chair, Assoc. Prof. Marek Soltes, MD., PhD., Hon. F.E.B.S./MIS. The EAES UEMS MIS exam represents the European standard in credentialing specialists in minimally invasive surgery and was initiated in 2018. The second edition of the exam was held 11-12 June 2019 in Sevilla, Spain, prior the EAES annual congress.
