37 Executive office Last year we made progress with our presence on various social media platforms. The closed Facebook group in particular exceeded our expectations with a growth of 200 new members per week at the end of this year. Being where your (potential) members are was our motto this year. Not only did we make ourselves heard on the digital highway, we also started a live-communication campaign. By being present with a membership booth at the main meetings of our national societies and international meetings, we want to be accessible to our members. We will continue to do so in 2020 . The transition to new software systems ensured that the participants in our annual congress could register and pay more smoothly. The application procedure for EAES membership has been simplified and brought into line with current practice. In 2020, we will focus even more on member engage ment. The EAES aims to not only bind but also fascinate its members. For example, the launch of our member portal will not only bind the members together, but will also reveal the necessary content that will make the membership even more valuable. The support of the EAES board and committees has been taken to a higher level, allowing our board and committee members to focus on the task and content. Translating the Executive Board’s policy into a workable policy requires insight, adaptation and dedication. The team in the Executive Office can fall back on years of experience and thus knowledge of important history that is indispensable for a clear vision of the future. The dedication with which our team serves its committees and the board is partly at the basis of the family feeling that we strive for within our association.
