31 RESEARCH TALENT ACADEMY The goal of the EAES Research Talent Academy is to help young surgeons to improve their research methodology skills and expand their knowledge across study designs. Out of the participants of Talent Academy workshop, candidates will be selected to follow the remote mentoring and methodology advice for completion of a research project, and they will be supported to submit a grant application to EAES. This year 10 participants from 6 countries attended the Talent Academy, the following candidates were selected for the mentorship programme: Mentee Mentor - Fabian Lunger, - Andreas Shamiyeh, Switzerland Austria - Gemma Humm, - Nader Francis, United Kingdom United Kingdom - Elisa Bannone, - George Theodoropoulous, Italy Greece - Patricia Tejedor, - Marguerite Gorter-Stam, United Kingdom The Netherlands - Ernesto Barzola Navarro, - Carmen Balague Ponz, Spain Spain Dear Therese, I am glad to inform you that my EAES mentorship programme has been successfully completed. The project titled “Network meta-analysis of different types of fundoplication for gastro-esophageal reflux disease” has been completed, submitted for publication in the Surgical Endoscopy journal and also accepted for oral presentation in the upcoming EAES conference in Seville. I am more than grateful to my mentors, Stavros Antoniou who has supported me in all the steps of the project and inspired me with his dedication to the high quality surgical research and evidence synthesis vision, Dimitrios Mavridis whose input in the complicated NMA statistics was extremely valuable and Nader Francis for the overall supervision and useful comments at the manuscript submission. This mentorship programme was a valuable journey for me. I not only acquired useful and practical knowledge regarding high quality research but also made good friends and met colleagues with high standards of professionalism that I am looking forward to collaborate with them again in the future. I will always be grateful. I would definitely recommend this programme to my colleagues.
