15 Word from the Treasurer Word from the Treasurer Obviously, the successful activity of EAES was always supported by a strong financial foundation. As treasurer, I am honoured and privileged to take the responsibility for our association’s funds, the members’ heritage collected over the almost three decades of EAES history. Currently, our association runs the business via a permanent office, headed by the company CEO, under external audit and accounting. The budget proposals for various activities and annual EAES Foundation and BV P&L’s are approved by the Executive Board (EB) and their execution is supervised by the treasurer and the Executive Board. Recently, following the EB and General Assembly (GA) decisions, important structural modifications were set-up to better administrate the business of EAES. Last year, two of the financial entities in which EAES owned the majority of shares merged into one, obtaining a more supple administrative corporation. The actual EAES finance can successfully support the vision and the mission of our association by continuously investing in education and research, thus making EAES a very attractive scientific forum for all generations of physicians.
